The fact that the STAD was free of charge was very helpful, as we had only a small number of users and could not afford to spend much on assessment tools. At the hospital where I am currently working in Bangladesh, the screening assessment being used consists of three sheets printed on both sides. There are also very few standardized test batteries for assessing aphasia and higher-order cognitive dysfunction.
I was looking for something that could quantify assessment results and present them numerically. I do not believe that numerical scores are everything, but if we cannot determine what is improving and in what way, it can be difficult to analyze changes over time.
